Those interested must have the following skills, capabilities and experiences:
1. Qualified candidates must have experience raising rabbits including the Netherland Dwarf breed. This experience shall include general rabbit husbandry and showing of Dwarfs.
2. Demonstrate good writing skills and effective use of the English language. Candidates will be asked to provide manuscripts, magazine articles, proposals, newsletters, etc. that the candidate has authored to verify writing skills proficiency.
3. Candidates must have printing and graphic service companies located within approximately a 30 mile distance from their residence. This is important for coordination of publishing and mailing deadlines.
4. Demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines.
5. Have working knowledge of software programs used in publishing newsletters and magazines as well as demonstrate proficiency in one or more of the programs prior to accepting the Editor position.
6. Attend at least 90% of the ARBA National Conventions and ANDRC National Shows to document and photograph the events of these shows including photos of winning rabbits, general show photo’s and attendees of these shows. In addition, develop stories around the shows to author stories related to these shows, travel and other human interest stories.
7. Have a secure home e-mail and fast internet access (no dial-up) as well as must have adequate computer equipment and programs to receive and forward photographs, text, Digest pages, etc.
8. Must be comfortable creating ads and promoting advertising space in the Digest.
