Darrell Bramhall (deceased)

Darrell BramhallOur first person of honor served the membership as its first Secretary and later as Vice President and President. He became an ARBA judge in 1960. In 1970 due to his efforts and the request letter for affiliation to ARBA, the ANDRC was accepted as a charter club. He was instrumental in helping to form the first standard that was adopted from the English standard with some changes to adapt to ARBA rules. He received his first start with a trio of Netherland Dwarfs, which were an imported trio of Himalayans from the English. He married Joy Wickwire (another Hall of Fame member) in 1979. Together they raised many champions. He served the membership as Secretary/Treasurer until his death in 1994. The Endowed Award for Best Siamese Smoke Pearl at ARBA conventions recognizes his many contributions to the ANDRC.

Hartl started out as a New Zealand breeder and moved on to Netherland Dwarfs with a pair of English imported Ruby-eyed Whites when he saw his first Dwarfs in 1970; next came a Himalayan Dwarf from a friend who helped to improve his herd. In 1975 he made a trip to Holland and Germany where he picked up 5 dwarfs, a Himalayan and 4 Ruby-eyed Whites. In 1976 he returned again to Europe and this time was sold a pair of Ruby-eyed White bucks. One of these is the Hall of Fame rabbit Luck’s Sure Fire. Hartl was Vice-President of the ANDRC for 8 years. He was a member of both the Standards and Advertising committees. Additionally, he was an ARBA judge for many years and judged the first Dwarf show in Hawaii. She is responsible for bringing in more new members than any other single person in the fast growing years of the 70’s and for many years to come. Betty and her husband, collier, dominated the 1970’s with more ARBA wins than any other breeder along with multiple ANDRC sweepstakes wins. Herb Dyck (deceased)

Herb was one of the biggest promoters of the Netherland Dwarf, serving as Vice-President in the early years and as Supply Chairman of the ANDRC. He was on fire for the club. Herb imported many Dwarfs in the early years and made them available to all. He loved the youth and all newcomers. In 1974, Herb brought over from England the President of the National Dwarf Club, Peter (Pop) Cage. He traveled with Pop around the States so that breeders could learn more about this new rabbit and have their questions answered. Herb was well known for spending not only his own money but much of his time volunteering at the local and state levels. (Inducted at the ARBA Convention in Columbus, Ohio (posthumously) The Endowed Award for Best Jr. All Colors is in recognition for Herb Dyck’s efforts to promote the Netherland Dwarf in the early years of the ANDRC.

He served as President and Vice President of the ANDRC and always worked as table help at conventions for many years. Known for his love of the rabbit and his commitment to the membership, he is quoted as saying, “Netherland Dwarfs are not the breed for everyone. Dale DedicDale Dedic

Dale and his wife, Lyllian, got their start with Easter bunnies in 1976. They first saw Dwarfs at a fair in Colorado, where they began their show career. Dale was employed by IBM, and that meant he had to travel. He was sent to New York where he met with Dwarf breeders and purchased stock that led him to his breeding of 97U a Black Silver Marten. In 1982 the sweepstakes were at least 6 months behind. With over 1200 members in the ANDRC and sweepstakes being calculated by hand, it was no easy task to keep up with the volume. Dale talked an IBM friend into putting together a program to maintain the sweepstakes and sanctions operations and keep these functions running smoothly from 1982 to 1987.
